CCs are responsible for fostering strong residential communities of approximately 45-50 students through intentional relationship-building, strategic programming aligned with a co‑curricular framework, and responsive problem solving. This position requires significant evening and weekend presence in the residence halls to create both formal and informal touchpoints with students, ensuring residential spaces act as true centers for student life and belonging. CCs are expected to navigate ambiguity, make sound judgements, and proactively address issues before they escalates.

All Community Coordinators are expected to participate in an on‑call duty rotation which requires the individual to work untraditional hours, including evening, overnight, weekends, bank holidays and break periods, etc. To support co‑curricular programming and manage escalated student emergencies.

While accommodation is provided, it is not fixed and there is possibility of room type, or allocation changing to meet institutional and business needs.

This role operates across a range of shift patterns to fulfil on‑call and community presence responsibilities. The CC work pattern includes a mix of on‑call coverage (weekdays, 5pm-9am; weekends 9am-9pm or 9pm-9am), daytime presence (9am-5pm), and evening presence (1pm-9pm). Staff schedules are coordinated as a team to ensure maximum visibility and student engagement within the residence halls. Candidates should be prepared to work flexibly across these patterns as part of their regular duties.

Design and implement outcome‑driven programming (events) aligned with the residential curriculum that fosters community and student learning.

Crisis Management

Serve as primary on‑call staff within 24/7 rotation, responding to student emergencies and crisis situations, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.

Maintain proactive presence while on call through regular community rounds, student check‑ins, touchpoints with site staff and event monitoring to identify emerging concerns and community trends before they escalates.

Evaluate and assess student behaviors and community trends and provide appropriate interventions.

Assessment and Documentation

Conduct semesterly community assessments to evaluate residential community health, identify engagement gaps, and develop informed action plans to strengthen belonging and community among students.

Maintain comprehensive documentation including timely submissions of incident reports, student interaction notes, engagement tracking etc. through institutional platforms, ensuring accurate record keeping that supports seamless care coordination and compliance.
