The Community Connections Officer is a creative role working with people we support and their support teams to build community and social connection and wellbeing. They will do this by brokering, signposting and creating opportunities for community participation, friendship, volunteering, vocation and wellbeing.

The successful candidate needs to live in South Wales.

Interviews will take place on the 4th August via Microsoft teams.

About the role

Your main duties will include:

  • To identify and or develop a range of local volunteering, occupational and enterprise opportunities for people who have learning disabilities and/or autism
  • To work with the people, we support to identify or co-produce a range of social, networking and occupational opportunities, and opportunities for informal support.
  • To find and develop ways for people we support, families and colleagues to give their time to support local communities, the third sector and the environment.
  • Collect evidence of social impact activities and promote the value of these to people we support, local organisations, commissioners and funders.
  • Assisting with finding and securing external funding

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism
  • Experience of successfully developing and delivering projects.
  • Knowledge of the voluntary sector and volunteering best practice
  • Possess excellent planning and organisational skills
