Job description

Are you looking to work in an award-winning, well-supported, friendly, dynamic, culturally astute, and inclusive environment that puts women/birthing people at the centre of quality care?

Our latest CQC report has been published, maintaining our good rating since 2017 and being awarded outstanding for leadership.

An opportunity has arisen for a Community Clerk to join one of our well-established community midwifery teams, on a secondment, in delivering high-quality care to women/birthing people and their families. You will support the team and provide efficient and professional support services for both patients and clinicians. Your responsibilities will include reception, administration, ward, and clerical support to the team and team leader.

The administrator will be part of a community team of midwives, with role development including Excel spreadsheet data entry and assisting with postnatal discharge summaries.

Our commitment to equality and diversity
  • Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from Black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds, those identifying as LGBTQ+, and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development.
  • Widening access (anchor institution) and employability.
  • Enhancing the experience of staff with disabilities.
  • Improving EDI literacy and confidence among trust staff through training and development.
  • Making equalities mainstream across the organization.

Essential skills include organisational, administrative, and computer skills, particularly in organising/booking appointments and methodically managing notes and filing. A good standard of numeracy and literacy, the ability to work independently and in a team, and a smart appearance are required, along with the ability to work under pressure.

You should have experience providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support within teams. Flexibility in working hours, good customer care skills, and effective communication skills are essential, as you will interact with both clients and staff. Driving and access to a car are necessary for travel between the community base and Lewisham.

Our people are our greatest asset. When supported and happy at work, our staff positively impact patient care. Our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives foster a culture of engagement through staff networks, a corporate EDI team, and various programs and events aligned with our five core aspirations.
