Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking a motivated Childcare Development Outreach Officer to join the Early Years’ Business, Sufficiency and Funding Team. The role focuses on outreach to childcare providers, parents, students, and employers, promoting childcare information and services across the city.

You will help manage Coventry's childcare market and support workforce recruitment and retention, visiting venues, schools, and colleges to encourage entrants into the childcare sector.

Qualifications

• Provide information and advice about childcare to parents, carers, students, employers, childcare providers and professionals.
• Support the management of the childcare market in Coventry in accordance with the childcare sufficiency duties.
• Lead outreach activities to recruit and retain the childcare workforce, including job fairs and school visits.

Responsibilities

• Visit city-wide venues and before/after school and holiday childcare providers to share information.
• Assist in ensuring sufficient registered childcare and education places.
• Work with partners such as training providers and Job Shop to support recruitment and retention.
