Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is hiring Community Center Aide to support Hillside and Martin Luther King Community Centers. Work evenings and weekends; duties include supervising activities, maintaining facilities, and assisting with afterschool programs.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, six months recreation experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid/AED certification within six months.

Qualifications

  • Six months of experience in recreation or athletic services; some custodial experience required
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification by the first six months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining recreational facility and organizes materials and supplies
  • Promotes educational, cultural and recreational activities/events
  • Performs maintenance and custodial duties
  • Conducts weight room orientations and fitness class instruction
  • Assists with afterschool programs (FW@6/Rising Stars, Best Years Club)
  • Manages facility use schedules and logs activities
  • Monitors facility conditions and notifies needed repairs
  • Collects activity fees and issues receipts
  • Prepares records and reports on participants and programs
  • Provides clerical support as needed
  • Follows departmental attendance policies and City rules
