Job summary

Peabody is seeking a caring and reliable Caretaker to help keep our communities clean, safe and welcoming. You’ll maintain internal and external communal areas, perform checks, and support residents with their needs in a role that requires physical activity and a customer‑facing approach.

With a focus on safety and high standards, you’ll work as part of the estates teams to ensure environments remain well-presented and residents feel valued.

Qualifications

• Caretaking/cleaning experience
• COSHH and health & safety knowledge
• Experience using powered cleaning equipment
• Good customer service and communication
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Good time management and organisation
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physical duties

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning and caretaking across communal areas
• Perform lighting checks and bulb replacements
• Clean entrances, stairs, lifts and bin stores
• Report repairs, defects and safety concerns promptly
• Build positive relationships with residents
• Work with Neighbourhood and Estate Services teams to support residents' needs
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and in line with procedures
• Follow COSHH, Health & Safety and safeguarding requirements
