Overview

Community Care Assistant, Plymouth

Pay: £13.97 to £19.99 per hour.

Shift patterns: 08:00 to 12:00, 18:00 to 22:00; Sundays 09:00 to 13:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.

We are looking for an exceptional Community Care Assistant to join the Newcross team in the Plymouth area. You will be part of a supportive and rewarding team where your work matters.

Role: supporting independence and enriching lives

As a Community Care Worker, you will provide person centred care in people\'s homes in Plymouth and nearby areas. Your compassion will help people live safely, with dignity and independence.

Client care context: Following a 2016 motorbike accident, our client has T7 complete and C4/5 incomplete spinal injuries. They require specialist support.

Responsibilities
  • Trained healthcare assistants on every shift.
  • Autonomic dysreflexia monitoring.
  • Daily bowel care and catheter support.
  • Moving and handling assistance.
  • Support with social activities.

Our client is family focused and enjoys regular visits from children and grandchildren. They like gym sessions, dining out, holidays, and motorbike or rugby events.

What we are looking for
  • At least 6 months of paid professional care experience, or personal care experience in the UK.
  • Confidence supporting people with limited mobility.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Experience with complex care is preferred, but not essential. Full training is provided.
  • Registration for Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland if applicable, for example SSSC, SCW, NISSC. Not required in England.
  • Ability to understand spoken and written English, to follow care plans and communicate clearly.
