A valid driving licence and good communication skills are essential for this position.

As a Community Care Assistant, you’ll provide high‑quality, person‑centred care within the community. This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where your work has a real and lasting impact.

You’ll be supported by an experienced and approachable management team and work alongside a great group of passionate, like‑minded people who genuinely care about what they do.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalised care in line with individual care plans

  • Support with daily living tasks including meals, hydration, mobility and personal hygiene
  • Assist with medication administration in line with company policy and training
  • Support with mobility, transfers and repositioning using safe moving and handling techniques
  • Provide clinical support such as catheter care, stoma care and peg feeding (where trained)
  • Recognise and report any changes in a service user’s physical or mental health
  • Encourage confidence, social interaction and independence
  • Accompany or drive clients to appointments and outings where required
  • Follow infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene and correct use of PPE
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with company policy and the Care Act 2014
  • Carry out light domestic duties such as laundry, tidying and washing up where specified in the care plan
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families and colleagues
What We’re Looking For
  • A caring, patient and dependable nature
  • Good spoken and written English
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business‑use insurance
  • Willingness to complete our induction and competency‑based training programme
  • Willingness to work towards NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care within 12 months
  • Understanding of the needs of older people, those with disabilities, and individuals living with illness
  • Basic awareness of safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Ability to follow written care plans and risk assessments
  • The ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible
  • No unspent criminal convictions that would prevent an Enhanced DBS check with Adults’ Barred List

Previous experience in home care or a care environment (desirable but not essential) NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification)

Completed Care Certificate
  • Experience in medication administration, catheter care, stoma care or peg feeding

  • Experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Proficiency in basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
