Job description

COMMUNITY ADULT EATING DISORDERS CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST (MAIDSTONE)

You will be expected to:

  1. Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to patients with eating disorders across all ages, with a focus on adult patients.
  2. Provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases.
  3. Offer guidance and supervision to team members, work directly with adults (and their families), and liaise with external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals as appropriate.
  4. Collaborate with other professionals, including another Adult Consultant Psychiatrist, 2.8 WTE CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists, 0.4 WTE Paediatrician, and 1 WTE Core Trainee, sharing supervision duties for junior doctors.
  5. Further develop links with local acute trusts, A&E departments, and inpatient wards to enhance services.
  6. Be responsible for allocated patients, including assessment, management, planning, and delivery of care.
  7. Support peers and team leaders, work independently, and supervise junior colleagues.
  8. Demonstrate commitment to collaborative working and liaise actively with health and social care professionals and agencies.
