Qualifications needed:
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
  • Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this.
  • Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

We are recruiting for a Community CAMHS Specialty Doctor in Redbridge, Chadwell Heath, Essex. This is a substantive, full-time, replacement post, vacant soon.

You will work with a team of consultant psychiatrists, specialty doctors, and trainees, influencing future treatment models.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Expected to:

  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs across Redbridge.
  • Provide senior medical support, clinical guidance, and supervision.
  • Work directly with children, young people, and their families, liaising with external CAMHS providers and hospitals.
  • Develop links with local acute trusts’ A&E departments and inpatient wards.
  • Assess, manage, plan, and deliver care for allocated patients.
  • Support peers and team managers, working independently when needed.
  • Liaise with other health and social professionals and supervise junior colleagues.
Person specification
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
  • Section 12 certification or a commitment to obtain it.
  • Expertise in managing a broad range of child mental disorders, neurodevelopmental, and eating disorders.
  • At least 4 years of postgraduate training, with 2 in relevant specialty training or equivalent experience.
