Qualifications needed:
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • CCT or equivalent
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST

We are recruiting for an Adult Consultant Psychiatrist in the Adult Autism Service, based at The Broad Street Centre, Morland Road, Dagenham, RM10 9HU. This is a new, fixed-term, part-time post—8 Programmed Activities (PAs) with Direct Clinical Contact (DCC) and Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs).

The post involves working with a multidisciplinary team to provide care to adults with mental health needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder, across London Boroughs including Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, and Waltham Forest.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to adults with mental health needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team
  • Work directly with adults and their families, liaising with external providers and hospitals
  • Participate in the on-call rota (currently 1:50, with a 3% on-call supplement)
  • Support peers and team leaders, working collaboratively and independently
Person specification
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • CCT or equivalent
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for, the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
