About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to plan, coordinate and implement communications strategies and initiatives that enhance RACMA’s brand, promote its programs, and foster engagement with Members and key stakeholders. This role requires a highly skilled, motivated and experienced communications professional with a deep understanding of membership-based organisations and a talent for delivering impactful communications. The role is pivotal to strengthening RACMA’s engagement with its Members, stakeholders, and the broader health community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement RACMA’s communication strategies to support organisational objectives and promote its activities.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
- Deliver timely, relevant, and impactful communications to RACMA Members and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to write, edit and proof content for newsletters, social media, websites, and publications, including the fortnightly Med Leaders Pulse newsletter.
- Partner with key internal teams to provide strategic communications advice and solutions to meet project objectives.
- Engage with College Committees and groups to gather feedback and insights for communications planning.
- Develop presentations, speeches, and scripts for Chief Executive, President and key College leaders when needed.
- Work with designers to develop visual collateral.
- Leverage analytics to monitor engagement, evaluate and optimise communication strategies.
- Coordinate communication plans for key RACMA initiatives, such as organisational strategies / changes, IT transformation projects, and training programs.
- Support change management communication strategies for organisational and policy changes.
- Proactively identify and pursue media opportunities to position RACMA as a leader in medical administration.
- Respond to media inquiries and manage press releases as required.
- Maintain strong relationships and collaborate with the internal teams and senior executives to support the successful delivery of communications services.
Key Selection Criteria :
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a communications role, ideally within a membership association, healthcare organisation, or similar setting.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills.
- Experience managing digital platforms and tools (e.g., CMS, social media, Microsoft Dynamics, survey platforms, email marketing).
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver timely and accurate communications to a wide stakeholder group.
- Ability to effectively respond to queries, identify needs, communicate services, and resolve issues.
