Job description

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with this small governmental body in their search for a Communications Officer.

The role

• Monitor and analyse media and digital engagement, compiling reports and insights to inform strategy and highlight key trends.
• Create and manage website content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with communication objectives and user needs.
• Develop engaging content across formats including blogs, newsletters, and digital assets, tailored for various audiences and channels.
• Plan and support events, handling logistics such as venues, invitations, materials, hospitality, and travel coordination.
• Manage social media platforms, creating visually appealing, branded content using tools like Canva and tailoring posts for different audiences.
• Track and report on digital engagement, using analytics to measure performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Provide administrative and stakeholder support, including coordination of processes and relationship management.

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential

• A third-level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., communications, digital media, journalism, marketing) or equivalent experience in the areas below.

• Strong experience in drafting, editing, and publishing content for web and social media platforms, using CMS tools and digital publishing systems.

• Skilled in maintaining website content and managing social media channels, with a focus on audience engagement, brand consistency, and platform optimisation.

• Proficient in administrative support, including the use of MS Office, handling correspondence, scheduling, and maintaining accurate records.
