Job description

NIHR South East Regional Research Delivery Network is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications professional. You will join the organisation at an exciting time and be part of a collaborative regional and national communications team to deliver RDN-wide communication and engagement activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about research to play an active role in delivering a wide range of communication activities to members of the public, service users, and health and care staff, informing them about research and opportunities to participate in studies.

The person in this role will work with partners across different health and care settings in the South East to help describe their research to the public. You will also work with research participants to share their stories of how research has positively impacted their lives.

This role is vital for the region’s success in achieving the RDN strategic objectives and raising awareness of our collective work locally and nationally.

Supporting the Communications Manager, you will contribute to creating plans, generating ideas, and supporting the delivery of communication and engagement initiatives. A curious and creative mind will help you interact with diverse groups, including the general public and professionals, to shape and deliver region-wide communications. Expect variety, interesting subjects, and people, with no two days being the same. Building relationships and exploring different approaches will help ensure important information reaches communities where research participation is most needed.

The impact of this role will be reflected in increased involvement and participation in research.
