I am proud to be working in partnership with a public sector organisation recruiting for a Communications Officer to join their dynamic team. This role involves transforming how the Communications team engages with residents, customers, and stakeholders across digital and traditional channels.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and delivering strategic communications campaigns
• Managing media relations and acting as a spokesperson
• Creating engaging content for web, social, print, and video
• Supporting internal communications and change programmes
• Collaborating with partners on joint campaigns
• Providing crisis communications support when needed

Ideal candidates will be:

• Skilled in campaign planning and content creation
• Confident working with media, stakeholders, and senior leaders
• Digitally savvy with storytelling flair
• Organised, adaptable, and collaborative
• Proven track record in communications, PR, journalism, or digital media
• Strong writing and editing skills across platforms
• Knowledge of digital tools and comms evaluation
• Experience in local government or public sector (desirable)
• Familiarity with AI tools and emerging digital platforms (desirable)

Qualifications:

• Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, PR, or equivalent
