Job summary

The Henry Royce Institute is seeking a committed Communications Officer to articulate the value and impact of advanced materials research to diverse audiences. Based from our Manchester hub, you will craft content across a range of channels and collaborate with researchers and partners.

You'll translate complex science into accessible narratives, produce engaging visuals, and help promote programs, facilities and events. A hybrid working setup is supported.

The Henry Royce Institute is seeking a committed and engaged Communications Officer to help communicate the value and impact of advanced materials research to audiences across academia, industry, government and the wider public.

Royce is the UK’s national institute for advanced materials research and innovation. Led from our hub at The University of Manchester, we bring together facilities, expertise and research capabilities from 11 partner institutions to accelerate materials innovation and translate research into wider benefit.

About You

What you’ll do:

This is a hands‑on role for a versatile communications professional who enjoys working across different formats, channels and subject areas. You’ll contribute to major initiatives including the Centre of Expertise in Advanced Materials, the Sustainable Materials Manufacturing Centre and the Tata Steel Centre for Innovation in Advanced Materials.
