We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to lead and deliver communications across media relations, content, digital and events for IIGCC. A core part of the role will involve supporting the EMDE Investor Taskforce of which IIGCC is the acting secretariat. The Taskforce brings together public and private sector stakeholders to develop practical solutions that will support institutional investors in pursuing investment opportunities in EMDEs to help deliver economic growth and tackle climate change. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, is confident working with senior stakeholders, and can combine strategic communications planning with hands‑on delivery. The candidate will identify and assess reputational risks and opportunities for both the EMDE Investor Taskforce and IIGCC’s emerging markets work, and develop communications approaches to manage these effectively. The candidate will need to be a strong teamplayer. You will be responsible for delivering the EMDE Investor Taskforce’s communications strategy, drawing on the guidance of senior comms colleagues where appropriate, whilst also being an integral part of the IIGCC’s established communications and membership team of 10. Overall, your work will contribute towards the latest developments in the intersection between investors and climate change. While this role is initially offered on a fixed‑term basis for 12 months, we hope that the contract can be extended, depending on resources.

Main responsibilities
Communications strategy and delivery
  • Deliver day‑to‑day delivery across all core communications disciplines for the EMDE Investor Taskforce: messaging, media relations, content, digital, website, brand and events.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders regarding the presentation and delivery of the communications strategy and activations.
  • Identify and assess reputational risks and opportunities for both the EMDE Investor Taskforce and IIGCC’s emerging markets work, and develop communications approaches to manage these effectively.
  • Manage development of visual assets, including infographics and graphics, that can be used across channels and different content types.
  • Work collaboratively internally to raise the profile of IIGCC’s emerging markets work and clearly highlight where it intersects or is complemented by the EMDE Investor Taskforce.
Media relations
  • Deliver proactive and reactive media relations for the EMDE Investor Taskforce aligned with the initiative’s communications strategy, working closely with IIGCC’s Senior Media Relations Manager and drawing on the wider comms team expertise as needed.
  • Identify media opportunities for senior spokespeople and support them with briefings, lines to take and messaging.
  • Monitor media coverage and assess impact.
Content and messaging
  • Lead development of clear and compelling content for the EMDE Investor Taskforce, including thought leadership, reports, blogs, announcements and external messaging.
  • Ensure all work is delivered to a high standard and quality, including proof reading, presentation and brand and user navigability.
  • Ensure messaging is aligned across channels and adapted appropriately for different audiences, including investors, policymakers and partners.
  • Support senior stakeholders with speeches, talking points and briefings, including for policy and high‑level stakeholder engagement.
Digital and website
  • Manage the delivery of the website strategy alongside ongoing maintenance and best practice for EMDE Investor Taskforce’s website, managing the relationship with the web developer and leading on strategy and the implementation of any changes.
  • Draft compelling and impactful content for the EMDE Investor Taskforce LinkedIn page and lead on community management, engaging with relevant stakeholders to raise the profile of the Taskforce and its outputs.
  • Use performance data and insight to refine messaging and channel strategy in collaboration with colleagues, and produce quarterly data and analysis reports for EMDE Investor Taskforce external stakeholders.
  • Be proactive in advising how the digital strategies of IIGCC and the EMDE Investor Taskforce can complement each other.
Stakeholder and secretariat communications
  • Lead communications activity on behalf of IIGCC as acting secretariat for the EMDE Investor Taskforce, including coordinating with communications representatives from participating organisations.
  • Chair or support communications coordination meetings with external stakeholders where required. Ensure clear governance, alignment and transparency in communications activity.
  • Coordinate closely with the wider IIGCC team to ensure communications activity of the EMDE Investor Taskforce and IIGCC are optimised to support each other.
Events
  • Lead communications planning and delivery for IIGCC‑led and IIGCC‑supported events for the EMDE Investor Taskforce, including roundtables and external engagements.
  • Coordinate closely with events colleagues and external partners to ensure consistency of narrative, messaging and branding. Support EMDE Investor Taskforce speakers with event‑specific messaging and materials.
