Job summary

Sapio Consulting, a founder-led venture capital advisory, seeks a Communications Manager to shape its presence across Europe and work with the Communications & Brand lead to experiment with formats while building the firm’s thought leadership. Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fast-paced marketing, communications, PR or content role.
• Strong curiosity for the VC and European startup ecosystem.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to tone and clarity.
• Creative and proactive mindset, eager to experiment with storytelling formats.
• Comfortable working with founders, partners and media.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational standards and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit and concept narratives for thought leadership content, newsletters and media.
• Test new content formats, including video and social experiments, to engage the wider ecosystem.
• Build and grow relationships with key technology journalists and media outlets.
• Identify and manage strategic positioning opportunities, including conferences and awards, for high visibility.
• Help define and execute the firm's social media strategy.
• Develop messaging that articulates the firm's strategy, values and market insights.
• Act as a communications partner to portfolio companies, coordinating and amplifying their success stories.
• Build out founder-facing communications toolkits and run spotlight campaigns for portfolio businesses.
• Support communications for high-profile events, including invitations and promotional materials.
• Ensure all external communications meet a high standard of editorial quality, accuracy and tone.

A leading founder-led venture capital fund known for backing Europe's most ambitious founders is seeking a Communications Manager to help shape how it shows up across the ecosystem. The firm plays an influential role in the European venture landscape and works closely with its portfolio from the earliest stages onward. This is a newly defined opportunity to work alongside an experienced Communications & Brand lead, with genuine scope to experiment with format and channel while building the firm's presence as a thought leader. The successful candidate will sit at the intersection of content, brand building, media relations and founder support, with visible impact from day one.

Role

• Write, edit and concept narratives for thought leadership content, newsletters and media
• Test new content formats, including video and social experiments, to engage the wider ecosystem
• Build and grow relationships with key technology journalists and media outlets
• Identify and manage strategic positioning opportunities, including conferences and awards, to secure high value visibility
• Help define and execute the firm's social media strategy
• Develop distinct messaging that articulates the firm's strategy, values and market insights
• Act as a communications partner to portfolio companies, coordinating and amplifying their success stories
• Build out founder facing communications toolkits and run spotlight campaigns for portfolio businesses
• Support communications for high profile events, including invitations and promotional materials for the annual general meeting
• Ensure all external communications, from pitch emails to website updates, meet a high standard of editorial quality, accuracy and tone of voice

Requirements

• Proven experience in a fast paced marketing, communications, PR or content role, ideally within technology or startups
• Demonstrated curiosity for the venture capital and European startup ecosystem, with a strong grasp of the key players and stories
• Excellent writing and editing skills with close attention to detail, nuance, tone and clarity
• A creative and proactive mindset, with a genuine interest in experimenting with new ways to tell a story
• Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, including founders, partners and media
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
• Strong organisational standards and the ability to work independently
