Job summary

Ascot Lloyd seeks a Communications Manager to plan and deliver clear, timely internal and client communications across campaigns and change activity. You will apply strong writing and editing skills, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage channels to ensure consistency and impact.

You will work within a regulatory-aware, tech-enabled environment, collaborating with teams to maintain quality and momentum while adhering to governance, risk, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a communications role covering at least 2 audiences (employees, professional/intermediary audiences, clients)
• Experience in a tech-enabled environment with AI skills
• Experience publishing via internal, email, web, or content management channels
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Confident stakeholder management
• Ability to tailor tone/structure to different audiences and objectives
• Collaborative, adaptable, and delivery-focused approach
• Independent but seeks guidance when needed
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver communications from brief to publication, manage risks, and oversee ComLog
• Draft content for internal channels to explain priorities, changes, and decisions
• Write, edit, and proofread communications ensuring brand tone and clarity
• Coordinate with stakeholders; attend meetings; manage budgets with suppliers
• Ensure regulated communications are accurate and concise, with focus on compliance and data protection

Job description

Job Title: Communications Manager

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00-5.00pm

Base Location: London/Birmingham (hybrid, 3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

Position: Full Time - Permanent

Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, you'll be supporting the planning and delivery of clear, timely, and engaging communications for colleagues, campaigns, and change activity into well-structured communications easy for each audience to understand and act on.

The role combines strong writing and editing skills with practical delivery, stakeholder co-ordination, and channel management. You'll work closely with teams within the wider business to maintain quality, consistency, and momentum across day-to-day and project communications.

What you’ll be doing:

Communications Planning and Delivery - You’ll manage communications from brief through drafting, review, approval and publication, raising risks early. You’ll manage the compliance system, ComLog, ensuring it’s well managed across the team

Internal & Client Communications - You’ll draft content for internal channels, publishing internal communications to help colleagues understand business priorities, change activity, and key decisions. You’ll gather feedback to refine future activity. You’ll work with the relevant teams to help factual accuracy, data requirements, and operational readiness

Writing, Editing, and Brand Stewardship - you’ll write, edit, and proofread communications applying Ascot Lloyds brand and tone, challenging jargon, ambiguity and complexity

Stakeholder and Project Coordination - you’ll gather input from stakeholders, maintaining ownership of final content and approvals. You’ll attend project meetings, working collaboratively with the wider marketing team and external suppliers to negotiate budgets

Governance, Risk & Measurement - You’ll work with compliance and subject matter experts to ensure regulated communications are accurate and concise, with an awareness of Consumer Duty, FA requirements, and GDPR. You’ll adhere to our review, approval, and document review processes.

What Expertise You’ll Bring To The Role

The mandatory criteria you’ll need are:

• Experience in a communications role covering at least 2 of the following audiences; employees, professional or intermediary audiences, and clients or customers
• Experience working in a tech enabled environment, with developed AI skills and expertise
• Experience using internal, email, web, or content management channels to publish and maintain communication
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills making complex information clear, concise, and relevant
• Confident stakeholder management skills
• The ability to bring clarity and tailor purpose, tone, and structure to different audiences and communications objectives
• A collaborative, adaptable and delivery focused approach
• Confidence working independently but seeking guidance when needed
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to prioritize a varied workload
  

The worthy skills to bring which would be beneficial to the role are:

• Experience working within financial services or another regulatory environment
• Knowledge of compliance approval processes, consumer duty, and data protection
