The Communications Manager is responsible for coordinating and delivering Hillsong UK's communication strategy across all channels and platforms. Working closely with the Communications Director, this role translates strategic direction into practical plans and ensures projects are completed to a high standard. The Communications Manager oversees workflows, supports team operations, manages campaigns and events, and ensures consistency in messaging across the organisation. This role helps share the voice of Hillsong UK through engaging and high‑quality communication for both internal and external audiences.
What you’ll do
Project Management
- Coordinate and deliver departmental communication, branding, and marketing projects following strategic direction.
- Manage timelines, resources, and budgets to keep projects on track.
- Turn vision and strategy into practical project plans and maintain efficient workflows.
- Monitor progress and allocate tasks effectively within the team.
Operational Support
- Manage the annual communications calendar and ensure alignment with church events, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Support the Communications Director with presentations, proposals, updates, and documentation.
- Organise departmental schedules, meetings, and project records to support smooth operations.
- Track budgets and ensure communications materials are well organised and accessible.
Campaign & Event Support
- Coordinate communications for church‑wide events, services, conferences, and campaigns.
- Oversee preparation and on‑site set‑up of communication and promotional materials.
- Work with internal teams to ensure clear, timely, and consistent messaging.
- Collect and review feedback to improve future campaigns and events.
Vendor and Partner Management
- Act as main contact for external vendors, contractors, and creative partners.
- Prepare briefs, coordinate timelines, and monitor external budgets.
- Ensure contracts and agreements meet organisational standards.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide direction to the Communications team, ensuring clarity of tasks and fair workload distribution.
- Promote a collaborative, mission‑driven culture and support team development.
- Represent the department in cross‑functional meetings and communicate updates.
Reporting & Documentation
- Keep accurate records of project schedules, deliverables, and reporting metrics.
- Track campaign and event outcomes and provide regular updates to the Communications Director.
What we’re looking for / Role Qualifications
Skills & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, Media, or equivalent experience.
- Project management experience or qualifications beneficial.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects and campaigns.
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Knowledge of integrated communications across digital, print, social, and in‑person channels.
- Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Trello, Monday.com) and design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) advantageous.
