Job summary

Headway Birmingham & Solihull is seeking a Communications & Fundraising Manager to lead income generation and raise the profile of vital services across Birmingham and Solihull. The role reports to the CEO and covers fundraising, communications, media relations and social media with a focus on engaging supporters and partners.

You will develop plans, secure grants, build community links, organise events, oversee content, and manage volunteers.

Qualifications

• Proven fundraising experience and partnership development.
• Experience writing trust and grant applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience managing social media, marketing or communications activity.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Canva or similar design tools.
• Creative, proactive approach with passion for helping others.
• Minimum two years fundraising experience.
• Full UK driving licence with business-use vehicle.
• Willing to work some evenings and weekends for events.

Communications & Fundraising Manager - Birmingham & Solihull

Are you an experienced fundraiser and skilled communicator looking to make a real difference?

Headway Birmingham & Solihull is a leading charity supporting people affected by acquired brain injury and their families. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Communications & Fundraising Manager to lead our income generation activities and raise the profile of our vital services across Birmingham and Solihull.

• Salary: Salary: £37,002.00 per year - £41,680.00 per year pro-rata Grade 9:1 to 10:1


• Hours: 20-25hrs per week (Monday to Friday) Flexibility required to meet the needs of the business


• Contract: Permanent

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and delivering fundraising initiatives that increase income and support the long-term sustainability of the charity. You will also oversee marketing, communications, media relations and social media activity, ensuring our message reaches and inspires supporters, donors and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver fundraising plans to meet income targets.

• Build strong relationships with donors, local businesses, schools, community groups and supporters.


• Organise and deliver fundraising events and campaigns.


• Lead and oversee the charity's communications, social media, publicity and marketing activities.

• Recruit, support and supervise fundraising volunteers.


• Monitor fundraising performance and provide reports to the CEO and Board.

About You

You will have:

• Proven experience in fundraising, income generation and partnership development.


• Experience of writing successful trust and grant applications.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.


• Experience managing social media, marketing or communications activity.


• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Canva or similar design software.


• A positive, proactive and creative approach with a passion for helping others.


• Minimum two years' fundraising experience.


• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.


• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and activities.
