IAG Transform provides creative and innovative solutions to drive sustainable transformation by delivering procurement and airline services, as well as group-wide systems across IAG. Each operating company benefits from the Transform centralised model, driving efficiencies, automation, and economies of scale.

Purpose of the role International Airlines Group (IAG) is one of the world's leading airline groups, bringing together Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, LEVEL and Vueling, and serving around 122 million customers each year. IAG Transform is a company within the parent company of IAG and is at the forefront of shaping the future of aviation, driving value across the Group through transformation, innovation, AI, technology and major procurement programmes. While relatively small in size (~500 employees), IAG Transform has a significant impact, helping to accelerate change and deliver long‑term value across IAG. Guided by our vision, “ Together, we transform aviation”, we are building the capabilities, culture and solutions that will help our airlines succeed in the future.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement, this role leads internal communications and engagement across Transformation and Technology domains for IAG Transform, while also managing external communications for one of the Group's largest transformation programmes within Engineering and Maintenance. Working closely with senior leaders, subject matter experts, Corporate Affairs colleagues and OpCo partners, the role owns the end‑to‑end planning and delivery of strategic, creative campaigns that explain complex topics, showcase progress and demonstrate how transformation is creating value across the Group. As a trusted communications adviser to Domain Transformation, Group AI & Technology and Group Innovation, the role provides strategic counsel, helping leaders translate business priorities into clear and compelling communications. The role will also deliver tactical communications to support technology initiatives and operational updates as required. The role requires strong business curiosity, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to turn highly technical and complex subject matter into engaging communications that connect with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic communications business partner to Domain Transformation, Group AI & Technology and Group Innovation, providing advice to senior leaders and shaping communications plans that support business priorities, engagement and change.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end development and delivery of communications strategies and campaigns for significant transformation and technology programmes, driving employee understanding, engagement and adoption.
  • Devise internal and external communications for a major transformation programme, developing campaigns and content that drive engagement and showcase business value.
  • Translate complex topics into compelling employee communications, working in close alignment with External Communications where appropriate.
  • Partner with internal communications colleagues across IAG's OpCos on Group‑wide transformation initiatives, ensuring communications are coordinated while recognising the needs of different businesses and audiences.
  • Build compelling narratives and thought leadership content that demonstrate how transformation contributes to business performance, customer outcomes and employee experience.
  • Develop proactive communications that bring technology, AI and innovation to life through tangible use cases, business outcomes, expert voices and employee stories.
  • Help colleagues understand how emerging technologies and new capabilities can support their work and create value across IAG.
  • Ensure the smooth and effective delivery of regularly scheduled and ad‑hoc communications and engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging technology developments, identifying opportunities to increase employee understanding, engagement and adoption of new tools and ways of working.
  • Support the planning and delivery of employee engagement activities and events, including Town Halls, SLTs and leadership forums.
  • Define clear objectives and success measures for significant communications activity.
  • Use measurement frameworks and data‑driven insights to evaluate effectiveness and optimise communications approaches.

  • Ability to interpret complex business and operational information and communicate it effectively to non‑specialist audiences.
Skills
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling and executive writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics, shape compelling narratives and create clear, engaging content that drives understanding and action.
  • Strong strategic planning and campaign leadership capability, translating business priorities into high‑impact communication and engagement strategies, campaigns and activities that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to influence, challenge and build credibility with senior leaders, acting as a trusted adviser and partnering effectively across functions and operating companies.
