Job description

We're looking for a Communications Assistant to join us on a paid three-month placement, supporting our busy team with both internal and external communications. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing knowledge of, or direct experience in, the theatre industry who wants to build hands-on PR skills in a friendly, fast-paced agency.

  1. Monitor and record daily press coverage; assist with client reporting.
  2. Maintain and update media lists and databases.
  3. Research media outlets, journalists, and influencers; keep up with trends and share findings.
  4. Update listings sites for clients.
  5. Assist with ANRPR's social media strategy, content creation, and management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok).
  6. Update the ANRPR website.
  7. Coordinate press and influencer invites, ticket requests, and bookings.
  8. Draft and proofread press releases and other press materials.
  9. Maintain campaign strategy and coverage update documents.
  10. Create end-of-campaign wrap-up reports.
  11. Assist with press campaigns, including some directed pitching and follow-up.
  12. Paid at London Living Wage (£12.50/hour, 37.5 hrs/week, equivalent to £24,375 pa pro rata).
  13. Hybrid role: 2-3 days per week in central London office, remainder remote (office days to be agreed in advance).
  14. Occasional evening/weekend work and travel - expenses reimbursed.
  15. Literate, articulate, and confident with grammar and proof-reading.
  16. Friendly, approachable, and empathetic - with a good sense of humour.
  17. Shows initiative, curiosity, and lateral thinking.
  18. Knowledge of and/or experience in the theatre industry (through work, study, or other involvement). Applicants with experience in the wider live entertainment and arts industry, including contemporary and classical music, comedy, drag, and dance, are also welcome.
  19. Meticulous and organised, with good workflow processes.
  20. Strong grasp of the current media landscape, as well as an understanding of social media.
  21. Thrives in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks under pressure.
