You’ll be at the heart of our depot network, working closely with operational leaders, our insights team, and corporate communications team to deliver engaging, inclusive, and effective communications strategies that support our people and business goals. Although you’ll be based at our Newhouse depot, this is a regional role that involves regular travel to multiple depots, particularly Birtley in North East England, and less often to Dalcross in Inverness and Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland.

Food is our biggest business, and none of it happens without the hard work of our logistics colleagues. This role brings our people a voice, and equips them with the knowledge to work effectively in line with our wider business.

At Co‑op, we believe that how we communicate and engage with our colleagues matters, and helps to build a shared sense of purpose and belonging. This role is key to delivering a great colleague experience across our depot network, and creating a place where our colleagues thrive.

What you’ll do
  • Deliver internal communications strategies across our depot network
  • Share colleagues stories and news updates that connect our logistics colleagues to the wider business
  • Work closely with our insights team to inform and shape communications plans
  • Create clear and engaging content across a variety of channels
  • Promote learning opportunities and apprenticeships to help our colleagues shape their development
  • Facilitate listening forums with colleagues and make sure their feedback is acted upon
  • Travel to various sites across our depot network (e.g., Carrickfergus, Dalcross, Birley) to engage with our colleagues
What you’ll bring
  • Experience in logistics operations and/or retail operations
  • The ability to analyse data and use insight to inform decisions
  • Some understanding of change management principles and how to land activity effectively
  • Good relationship‑building and collaboration skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • A willingness to travel to our depots across the UK (e.g., Carrickfergus, Dalcross, Birley)
Why Co‑op?
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co‑op products and 10% off other brands
  • Wagestream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle‑to‑work scheme
