Job description

About Your Role

Scope has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Communications and Engagement Advisor - Industrial Relations to work within our People and Culture division.

Reporting into the Communications Manager, your role will help plan and lead the implementation of comprehensive communication and engagement strategies to support enterprise bargaining efforts.

Working with the Head of People Transformation and the Communications Manager, this critical role is part of the EBA project team as a specialist in industrial relations communication and engagement.

Your Key Focus

You will be responsible for creating and managing content across various platforms to inform and engage employees about bargaining initiatives and changes, fostering a collaborative workplace culture that builds trust and transparency, and contributing to greater organisational capacity in enterprise bargaining through education and communication resources.

In your role, you will :

  • Contribute to the development of tailored communication strategies and campaigns to support bargaining initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation of strategies and create and manage content for various platforms to inform and engage employees about bargaining processes, proposed terms, and conditions and encourage participation in the process.
  • Facilitate effective internal communication processes to support enterprise bargaining efforts and foster a collaborative workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and approach across all functions.
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of communication methods and tools, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuously evolve and improve engagement and communication approaches and methods based on feedback and measuring impact of methods.
  • Contribute to initiatives to cultivate a workplace culture built on transparency, openness, and mutual trust.
  • Support the Communications Manager to develop and deliver training and resources to managers and team leaders on effective communication and engagement practices as needed.
  • Develop and implement engagement initiatives to gather employee feedback on communication and engagement efforts and refine strategies based on insights.

What We Look For

  • A minimum of 5 years practical experience within a Communications position.
  • Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning, preparation and execution communication and engagement strategies within a bargaining or industrial relations context.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage relationships effectively.
  • Strong understanding of effective communication strategies and tools.
  • Ability to contribute to and execute comprehensive communication plans.
  • Experience in measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies.
  • Experience in Disability, Community or Not-For-Profit sector highly regarded.
