A local educational institution in Milton Keynes is seeking a Communication Support Worker with medical experience. You will enhance the learning of deaf/hard of hearing pupils, providing medical support as needed. Ideal candidates will have a BSL qualification or be willing to pursue it, alongside experience with medical needs. About this Role

Role Communication Support Worker with Medical Experience

Salary St Paul\'s Pay Range 3 (£29,572 to £31,586)

Pro rata Starting Salary £20,381

Hours 30 hours per week, Term time only plus 1 day

Working Hours Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.40am-3.35pm; Tuesday 8.50am-3.35pm; Friday 8.40am-2.30pm

Responsibilities
  • Enhance the learning of deaf/hard of hearing pupils within the classroom and the Hearing Support Department
  • Provide support to pupils with medical needs, including those with a tracheostomy, with appropriate training
  • Work within an established team, supporting up to 9 pupils
Qualifications & Experience
  • Ideal: British Sign Language (BSL) qualification or willingness to work towards BSL qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of deafness and commitment to education
  • Paediatric first aid training preferred
  • Experience with medical needs and basic tracheostomy care preferred; willingness to undertake training under supervision
