A leading education recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a skilled Communication Support Worker to support Deaf students in a college setting. The role involves promoting social inclusion and working alongside teachers to enhance learners' experiences. Successful candidates will be qualified in British Sign Language and have an empathetic approach to supporting students. Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)
We are thrilled to be working with an excellent college in Cambridge. Are you a skilled and dedicated individual with a background of working with the Deaf community? Do you possess solid knowledge and experience, along with proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL)? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of Communication Support Worker (CSW).

You will work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of young people while promoting their social inclusion, self-esteem and independence. You will get the opportunity to support students in all vocational areas of the college and assist them to access the curriculum, participate in learning and fulfil their potential.
You will need to be able to use your own initiative while out in support of learners, dealing with situations with tact and empathy. The need to be flexible in your approach is imperative. You will need to be qualified to GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths and ideally have experience of working with people with SEND.

You will need to be qualified to Level 3 in BSL (or the ability to sign at that level) and ideally have a formal CSW qualification. DBS on the update service ideally.
