Settlements Analyst

Based: London (Hybrid)

Our client is a very successful international Energy Trading company with access to all key markets worldwide…

This role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop skills and responsibility within a growing and successful commodity trading business.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice creation, distribution, reconciliation, and settlement of physical and financial trading activities, mainly for LNG (Accounts Payable/Receivable)
  2. Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve invoice reconciliation discrepancies proactively and timely.
  3. Responsible for ensuring the timely collection of cash and aging reporting.
  4. Work with the operations team to clear overdue Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable items and non-allocated cash.
  5. Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements around settlements processes.
  6. Ensure the Settlements team SOP documentation is kept updated.
  7. Ensure compliance with trading standards and other regulatory requirements.
  8. Ensure correct tax treatment of invoices.
  9. Other tasks and projects assigned by the Settlements Team Lead and Senior Settlements Manager.
  10. May be required to work outside of normal business hours.
  11. May be required to cover settlements for other international offices.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Recognised Qualification in Accounting or Finance (or similar).
  2. At least 1-2 years of Settlements working experience in Energy & Commodities.
  3. System savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  4. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, strong self-initiative.
  5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under time pressure.
  6. Good verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, and attention to details.
  7. Strong team player and collaborate with other Finance team members to support overall Finance goals and objectives.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills.
  9. Knowledge of IMOS, Horizon, and SUN system is preferable but not a must as training will be provided.
