Key Role Responsibilities:
- Production of daily P&L reports and consolidation of all trade book reports, ensuring their accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Resolving queries from traders or other departments relating to P&L impacting topics.
- Raising queries to traders when proposed booking changes or business practices are unclear.
- Understanding the impacts of deal changes or bookings on different departments, considering how it will affect them.
- Validation of physical commodities (LNG, Gas, and Coal) and derivative deal entries to ensure accurate valuation within our ETRM.
- Maintaining price curves and associated calendars.
- Understanding funding requirements for futures and forwards and their impact on stakeholders.
- Managing relationships with clearing brokers and banks.
- Monitoring trading activity; highlighting and reporting unusual activity.
- Supporting Market and Credit risk monitoring.
- Calculating impacts of IR and FX on P&L, working with Treasury to ensure expected impacts and correct hedges.
- Supporting Finance in month-end closing processes, explaining provision requirements.
- Providing weekly and monthly analytics reports.
- Collaborating with teams in London and Singapore to add value and gain insights.
- Proposing and implementing improved processes and calculations.
- Managing Contract and confirmation processes for financial trades.
- Business travel may be required.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a Commodity Trading environment.
- Degree in Economics, Finance, or a similar quantitative field.
- Clear communication skills to articulate ideas, seek clarifications, and challenge practices.
- Attention to detail, ability to work logically and accurately under pressure.
- Comfort with large data sets and analytical explanations for management.
- Commercial awareness with an adaptive problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work independently, organize workloads, and manage expectations, especially with teams in Singapore.
