Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct a full range of commissioning activities throughout the lifecycle of bespoke engineering projects, representing the commissioning function to customers and internal departments.
2. Utilize solid engineering knowledge to extract relevant information from specifications and design documents, and develop commissioning strategies for bespoke solutions in the nuclear industry.
3. Support tendering processes by estimating hours required for commissioning work and defining scope inclusions and exclusions.
4. Create and review project commissioning strategies, ensuring their implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Develop testing and commissioning documentation, including pressure tests, proof load tests, control panel inspections, setting to work documents, safe systems of work, and factory and site acceptance test documents.
6. Manage the turnover process from manufacturing to commissioning, assessing equipment readiness.
7. Manage the transition from commissioning to manufacturing after in-house commissioning is satisfactorily completed.

Experience Required

1. Open to candidates who are not necessarily licensed Commissioning Engineers but have experience as Project Engineers or similar roles with commissioning responsibilities.
2. Experience in mechanical handling, robotics, special purpose machinery, or related fields is considered advantageous.
3. HNC qualification (or equivalent) or higher.
4. Extensive engineering workplace experience.
5. Experience working in highly regulated industries.
