Job summary

Celnor is seeking a Commissioning Support Technician to join our Commissioning Team, supporting the safe and compliant delivery of commissioning works across clean water infrastructure. The role is remote with occasional nights and weekends, offering training and clear career progression.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in water network field activities or a similar clean water environment.
  • A basic understanding of the water industry and clean water networks.
  • Safety-conscious with a strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of commissioning activities across clean water infrastructure.
  • Assist with commissioning works on clean water mains, treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs, including hydrostatic pressure testing, swabbing, flushing, chlorination, dechlorination and water quality sampling.
  • Prepare sites for commissioning by setting up equipment, carrying out pre-site surveys, inspections and monitoring activities.
  • Monitor commissioning equipment, record operational data and maintain accurate test results, inspection reports and photographic records.
  • Work in line with company, client and industry Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards, policies and procedures.
  • Support the maintenance, transportation and upkeep of commissioning equipment and vehicles while working collaboratively with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop your technical skills through hands-on training and mentoring, with flexibility to support occasional evenings, weekends and short-notice operational requirements.

We’re looking for a Commissioning Support Technician to join our growing Commissioning Team, supporting the safe and compliant delivery of commissioning works across clean water infrastructure. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll assist with commissioning activities on clean water mains, treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs, supporting pressure testing, chlorination, flushing, water quality sampling and equipment setup. This is a hands-on role offering excellent training, career progression and the opportunity to develop your technical skills within a growing team, with flexibility to support occasional nights, weekends and short-notice operational requirements.

Who you are
  • 1-3 years' experience in water network field activities or a similar clean water environment.
  • A basic understanding of the water industry and clean water networks.
  • A positive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
  • Safety-conscious with a strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • A team player with good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile devices and IT systems for reporting; experience with GIS mapping software is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends and short-notice call-outs.
  • Desirable qualifications include EUSR Water Hygiene, SHEA Water, Hydrostatic Pressure Testing, NRSWA Operative, Confined Space, CSCS, First Aid and experience with valve operations (including CALM Networks), commissioning activities and reading RAMS and site drawings.
