About the team:
You will be joining a new commissioning service within the Council’s Adult Social Care Services to deliver transformational change and service improvement for the benefit of our residents. We have one full-time and one part-time position available within our Whole Life Pathway commissioning team.
Adult Social Care are two years into their transformation programme and have far reaching and ambitious plans to build a sustainable service that supports our residents to live independent and fulfilling lives in communities that work together for the benefit of all.
The Commissioning Support Officer role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of our ongoing transformation journey and provides significant opportunities for professional development within a supportive and collaborative culture.
About the role:
The Commissioning Support Officer role will have a broad and varied portfolio. Working in the Whole Life Pathway team, this will include the design and commissioning of services for people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions, including supported living, respite/short breaks and care and support that promotes people’s independence, employment opportunities and engagement with their local communities.
You will play a key role in transforming commissioned services to improve outcomes for Southampton residents. The role will be responsible for service re-design and performance in identified areas to ensure delivery of the best possible care within the resources available. This will include managing discrete projects, undertaking needs assessment to inform planning, undertaking service reviews and developing option appraisals to support commissioning decisions, producing detailed service specifications which are based on clear measurable outcomes and include arrangements for monitoring and review, writing business plans and business cases and developing and monitoring project plans and risk logs.
