Commissioning Project Manager - Children’s Services

A Commissioning Project Manager is required within Children’s Services. As the commissioning project manager, you will lead commissioning transformation work aligned to the Safety Valve Programme, focusing on both Pre-16 and Post-16 learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will:

  • Shape and deliver commissioning strategies that improve outcomes for children and young people, ensure value for money, and reduce reliance on high-cost placements.
  • Lead commissioning projects supporting the development of sustainable, needs-led services for children and young people with SEND.
  • Drive improvements in service delivery through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of frameworks and agreements that enhance quality, consistency, and cost control across commissioned services.
  • Contribute to the development of local and regional commissioning arrangements, ensuring alignment with sufficiency strategies and preparation for adulthood pathways.
  • Monitor and evaluate commissioned services to ensure they meet outcomes and deliver value.
Requirements
