Interim Commissioning Project Manager - SEND

Based in London, hybrid working

Length: 3 months initially

Rate: £400 per day outside IR35

We are currently recruiting for an Interim Commissioning Project Manager, who will play a key role in leading on commissioning transformation work aligned to the Safety Valve Programme.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Commissioning Project Manager:

  • Leading commissioning projects that support the development of sustainable, needs-led services for children and people pre and post-16 with SEND
  • Driving improvements in service delivery through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based decision-making
  • Supporting the implementation of frameworks and agreements that enhance quality, consistency, and cost control across commissioned services

Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Commissioning Project Manager:

  • Proven experience in a commissioning role within a Local Authority, particularly in Children’s Services or SEND
  • Strong understanding of commissioning processes for education placements, therapies, and transition services
  • Demonstrable ability to lead complex projects, manage multiple stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Experience in developing and managing contractual frameworks, including provider agreements and performance monitoring tools
