NG Bailey is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead building services commissioning across the North East, Yorkshire and Scotland. The role involves overseeing the commissioning process to ensure installed systems meet design intent and operate safely and efficiently.

This staff position requires travel across regional sites, a strong background in MEP/building services, and the ability to drive best value through robust commissioning management and guidance.

• Extensive experience in building services installation and commissioning.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Significant experience in commercial management on commissioning projects.

Responsibilities

• Safety First: champion health and safety leadership on project activities.
• Lead the commissioning management on all projects and drive value-based design and installations.
• Collaborate and provide commissioning advice across the business and promote commissioning capabilities.
• Prepare monthly project reports for senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks and resource issues.
• Advise on commercial progress and corrective actions against the project plan.
• Ensure commissioning documentation aligns with NG Bailey standards and manage activities accordingly.
• Assist in defining work scopes for external commissioning and water treatment appointments.
• Foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams to enhance collaboration.
• Support regional commissioning manager in delivering CPDs to maintain team competence.
• Apply current legislation regarding building regulations, safety and environmental issues.

Your Role

In this pivotal role, you will lead the commissioning process, ensuring that our installed building services operate flawlessly and align with the design intent.

This is a staff position that involves travel across our North East, Yorkshire, and Scotland regions, with occasional opportunities to work at other sites.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Safety First: Champion health and safety leadership, ensuring a visible commitment to safety in all project activities.
• Lead the Charge: Oversee commissioning management on all projects, driving best value design and technically excellent installations.
• Collaborate & Support: Provide commissioning advice across the business and actively promote our commissioning management capabilities.
• Reporting: Prepare monthly project reports for senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and resource issues.
• Commercial Insight: Advise on commercial progress and corrective actions against the project plan.
• Documentation Management: Ensure commissioning documentation aligns with NG Bailey standards and manage activities accordingly.
• Scope Definition: Assist in defining work scopes for external commissioning and water treatment appointments.
• Build Relationships: Foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to enhance collaboration.
