A leading company in the Energy from Waste sector is seeking a Commissioning Manager to oversee critical projects across the UK. This field-based role involves managing commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and supervising staff. Candidates should have significant experience, strong leadership skills, and be fluent in German and English.

Qualifications

Are you a client, a global greentech company operating in the waste to energy market, looking to recruit a Commissioning Manager for their Energy from Waste plants across the UK in preparation for the commissioning stage of their projects?

We are specifically interested in speaking to Commissioning Managers or Commissioning Leads seeking career progression, especially those with experience in Energy from Waste and turnkey projects.

You must have experience with grate and grating components, including grate systems and combustion.

This role can be either on a contract or staff basis and will be field-based, covering the UK plants.


Key responsibilities:
  • Manage Documentation and Commissioning: Oversee project documentation and commissioning activities, ensuring customer specifications are met.
  • Control Schedule, Budget, and Safety: Ensure adherence to schedules, costs, and safety standards, while managing risks and deviations.
  • Supervise Personnel and Training: Supervise commissioning staff and provide customer training.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the main on-site contact for the customer, ensuring safe operations.
  • QA/QC and Handover: Ensure completion of QA/QC and handover documentation before project takeover.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in large-scale industrial plant construction in commissioning manager or lead commissioning roles.
  • SMSTS/IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent managers qualification.
  • Valid SCC training certificate (Safety Certification for Contractors).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Business fluent in German and English; additional languages are an advantage.
