Primary Responsibilities

The primary objective of our Commissioning Managers is to ensure that the processes involved in the commissioning of engineering services systems are diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed, and recorded.

  • Deliver commitments to clients on time, with required levels of detail and quality.
  • Utilize the company's management systems to achieve the primary objective.
  • Provide consultative advice on commissioning and performance requirements, strategies, programs, and scopes of work.
  • Proactively progress commissioning activities throughout the project cycle in collaboration with the General Contractor and Vendors.

Additionally, at all times:

  • Engage with other members of the company to improve systems and procedures.
  • Serve as a Champion in areas of specific technical interest.
  • Promote the company and the wider group through marketing activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act safely in compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Work diligently, efficiently, and professionally.
  • Ensure technical compliance and high-quality deliverables.
  • Work closely with clients and general contractors to develop commissioning strategies aligned with project objectives.
  • Adopt the company's project and management systems to ensure building services are fully commissioned as per contract documents.
  • Maintain awareness of project finances and control expenditures.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Prepare reports with technical content and progress updates.
  • Develop project-specific commissioning management and validation documents.
  • Review drawings, manuals, and technical submittals.
  • Develop method statements, test scripts, and related documents.
  • Report internally on project scope changes.
  • Collaborate with a professional team to evaluate progress, difficulties, and costs.
General Duties
  • Arrange test instrumentation required for testing.
  • Assist in developing tender submissions.
  • Complete timesheets accurately weekly.
  • Support colleagues proactively.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent; significant project management experience; professional memberships (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE) are advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project or commissioning management within building services.
  • Strong communication skills, client focus, leadership qualities, and resilience.
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, professional, and committed to continuous self-improvement.
  • Flexible working hours as needed.
  • Customer-oriented with a proactive attitude to service and opportunity recognition.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and develop supportive relationships.
  • Effective communication, planning, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to develop skills and support organizational change.
  • Ability to motivate others and make informed decisions.
Required Qualifications
  • Willingness to travel to site locations.
  • Experienced engineer, licensed PE or field technician with strong understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, and T&B processes.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of design document organization and delivery of design & construction services.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, and business operations.
  • Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
