As a Commissioning Manager, you will be part of an organization that is 100% employee owned, supporting many opportunities for career advancement and success.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary objective of our Commissioning Managers is to ensure that the processes involved in commissioning engineering services systems are diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed, and recorded.
- Deliver commitments to clients on time, with requisite detail and quality.
- Utilize the company's management systems to achieve objectives.
- Provide consultative advice on commissioning and performance requirements, strategies, programs, and scopes of work.
- Proactively progress commissioning activities throughout the project cycle in conjunction with the General Contractor and Vendors.
Additionally, always:
- Engage with team members to improve systems and procedures.
- Act as a Champion in specific technical areas.
- Promote the company and group through marketing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely, adhering to health and safety policies.
- Work diligently, efficiently, and professionally.
- Ensure technical compliance and high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to develop commissioning strategies aligned with project goals.
- Adopt internal management systems to ensure building services are fully commissioned per contract documentation.
- Monitor project finances and control expenditures.
- Attend meetings and prepare technical reports.
- Develop project-specific commissioning documents, procedures, and test scripts.
- Review drawings, manuals, and technical submittals.
- Report project scope changes internally.
- Evaluate progress, difficulties, and costs with the team.
General Duties
- Arrange test instrumentation for testing.
- Assist in tender development.
- Complete timesheets weekly.
- Support colleagues proactively.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent; project management experience; professional memberships (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE) are advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in project or commissioning management within building services.
- Strong communication skills, client focus, resilience, leadership qualities.
- Self-motivated, dynamic, professional, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Flexible hours and willingness to travel.
- Team player with minimal supervision, relationship-building skills.
- Confident communication, attention to detail, and deadline-oriented.
- Proactive in skill development and embracing change.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to travel to site locations.
- Experienced engineer, licensed PE or technician with strong MEP/HVAC knowledge.
- Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of design documentation, construction practices, project accounting.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
