Our client, a leading provider of construction and refurbishment services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join their project team. The role involves overseeing commissioning on complex refurbishment and M&E upgrade projects, often within live hospital environments, ensuring all systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational prior to handover.
Develop and manage commissioning plans for building services and specialist systems.
Oversee commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems in line with HTM, SFG20, and project-specific standards.
Coordinate with design teams, M&E subcontractors, and client representatives.
Lead commissioning meetings, witness testing, and manage snagging and defect resolution.
Ensure compliance with CDM, health & safety, and infection control protocols.
Manage all commissioning documentation including checklists, test sheets, and O&M manuals.
Support integration of new systems into existing infrastructure.
Contribute to project handover and post-completion review.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager within UK construction, ideally healthcare.
Strong knowledge of M&E systems, HTMs, CIBSE, and BSRIA guidance.
Experience in live/occupied environments with awareness of infection prevention.
Relevant qualifications in Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
SMSTS, CSCS, and health & safety training preferred.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
