Job summary

Mech Electrics Limited at Gatwick Airport is seeking an experienced MEP Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning and QA for enabling projects feeding the heat network, ensuring systems are commissioned correctly and quality checks meet required standards.

You will collaborate with project teams, contractors and consultants to ensure MEP systems are delivered, tested and handed over ready for integration into the wider airport heat network, supporting the decarbonisation programme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an MEP/Commissioning Manager on complex projects.
• Strong MEP/building-services background.
• Airport/airside experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee MEP commissioning activities across enabling projects.
• Ensure commissioning requirements, points and procedures are fully adhered to.
• Carry out and oversee quality checks and verification of MEP systems.
• Review commissioning documentation, test results and handover information.

Location: Gatwick Airport

The Role

We are looking for an experienced MEP Commissioning Manager to join a major decarbonisation programme at Gatwick Airport.

The role will focus on the commissioning and quality assurance of enabling projects that will connect into the wider heat network, ensuring systems are correctly ommissioned, points are adhered to and all required quality checks are completed to the appropriate standards.

You will work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants and commissioning specialists to ensure MEP systems are delivered, tested and integrated successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee MEP commissioning activities across enabling projects.
• Ensure commissioning requirements, points and procedures are fully adhered to.

• Review commissioning documentation, test results and handover information.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an MEP Commissioning Manager / Commissioning Manager / M&E Commissioning Manager.
• Strong MEP/building-services background.
• Experience delivering commissioning on complex construction or infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and building-services systems.
• Strong experience with testing, commissioning, quality assurance and handover.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Candidates from either a consultancy or contractor background will be considered.
• Airside/airport experience would be a significant advantage, but is not essential.
