Job description

A rapidly expanding specialist in industrial automation have created a role for a Commissioning Engineer to join their friendly team of Engineers, based in Sheffield (S9) with travel across the UK to a wide variety of client sites.

The Commissioning Engineer supports the design, build and test of automated electromechanical systems as well as providing ongoing maintenance and support. Hands on skills to build and test designs are required along with diagnostic and commissioning experience.

The ideal applicant will be a proficient problem solver who is able to identify the root causes of electrical and mechanical faults and provide appropriate solutions. You will also be willing to travel to install systems at client sites.

Key requirements for Commissioning Engineer:

  • Qualified to HNC level in an electrical engineering course, or electrical apprentice trained
  • Confident in reading and understanding technical electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Ability to rapidly learn new technology
  • Ability to identify root causes of electrical faults
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and able to regularly travel to customer sites
  • Ability to obtain vetted security clearance/DBS checks
