Job summary

Envirogen is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead and coordinate the testing and handover of water treatment projects. You will ensure systems are tested, validated and operating as designed, while collaborating with clients, contractors and internal teams.

The role emphasizes on-site delivery, safety and regulatory compliance across diverse industrial environments, with a focus on building strong client relationships and delivering projects to plan.

Qualifications

• Experience commissioning mechanical, electrical, control or process systems in industrial, utilities or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working on-site with contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach, excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering projects successfully.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate commissioning activities across water and process projects.
• Carry out pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, system start-up, optimisation and performance validation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during testing and start-up.
• Manage commissioning documentation, test records and handover packs.
• Act as the main client contact during commissioning, building strong relationships and ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with quality, environmental and compliance standards.
