Job summary

Omega is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our expert service team, delivering electrical distribution system commissioning, testing and support on UK projects ranging from industrial to utility sectors. This field-based role involves hands-on site work across the UK and close collaboration with customers.

You will commission LV/11kV/33kV switchgear, configure protection relays, support SCADA, produce reports and advise clients.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within switchgear commissioning, testing or field service engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection commissioning and relay testing.
• Experience working with LV, 11kV and 33kV electrical networks.
• Proven background supporting and commissioning SCADA systems.
• Experience using protection testing and commissioning software.
• Strong understanding of current electrical safety legislation and best practice.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring a high level of service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for additional service, maintenance and upgrade solutions.
• Ensure all activities are completed safely and in line with industry standards and company procedures.
• Travel throughout the UK to support customer projects, including occasional overnight stays.
