Job summary

The Financial Times Ltd is seeking a commissioning editor for the Project Publishing team to lead end-to-end reports and series, from concept to publication and promotion. The role requires imagination in traditional and innovative formats to engage FT readers across platforms.

You will collaborate across FT desks and with freelance contributors, manage editorial projects, and help shape in-depth coverage on core topics. This position is onsite with flexible patterns considered where suitable.

Qualifications

• Writing or commissioning synopses for reports and series in collaboration with writers and editors.
• Commissioning articles and multimedia content for special reports and projects.
• Editing, fact-checking and preparing content for online/print publication.

Responsibilities

• Writing or commissioning synopses for reports and series in collaboration with specialists and editors.
• Commissioning articles and multimedia content for special reports and new projects.
• Editing, fact-checking and revising articles, and preparing for publication to deadlines.
• Liaising with editorial desks on feasibility, scheduling and commissioning.
• Reviewing video edits and graphics for sign off.
• Pitching ideas for new editorial projects with innovative formats.
• Collaborating with FT Live to bring event content to readers.
• Partnering with the main news desk for homepage promotion.
• Working with audience engagement and social media teams to promote content.
