An established industry player is seeking a Commissioning Editor to join their dynamic Books team. The Royal Society of Chemistry has an exciting opportunity for a Commissioning Editor to join our Books team in a dynamic, fast-moving publishing environment as a maternity cover.
At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate.
Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office as needed for your role.
As Commissioning Editor, you will work within our Books Commissioning team on books from concept through to publication. You will commission book titles in the chemical sciences, specifically on the biochemistry and medicinal chemistry portfolio, in accordance with our strategic plans, working closely with authors, editors, and reviewers, assess projects for publication and ensure that these are marketed effectively to end users.
In this role, it is expected that you will attend the office on an ad-hoc basis. If you need flexible working arrangements, please outline this in your application.
