Job summary

A leading engineering employment agency seeks a Commissioning BOP Supervisor with extensive experience in thermal power plants. The role involves supervising BOP commissioning, collaborating with multiple disciplines, and ensuring project safety and efficiency. Candidates must possess solid mechanical engineering skills and be able to work effectively in a team. This contract offers an outside IR35 engagement with a minimum duration of 12 months, starting in September 2025.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineer with at least 5 years experience in the commissioning of thermal power plants, EFW or similar.
• Experience in commissioning the BOP in thermal power plants.
• Knowledge of logic diagrams and TFAs management skills.

Overview

Key skills required for the Commissioning BOP Supervisor. Mechanical engineer with at least 5 years of experience in the commissioning of thermal power plants, EFW or similar, and experience responsible for the commissioning of the BOP in this type of plant.

Responsibilities

• Commission the BOP in collaboration with other disciplines (electrical, I&C, operations, etc.) and with the TFAs of the boiler supplier.
• Report to the Commissioning Manager and coordinate with the site LOTO Responsible Senior Authorised Person for planning and implementation of all permits related activities.
• Collaborate with TFAs and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to execute commissioning plans within the project timelines.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineer with at least 5 years of experience in the commissioning of thermal power plants, EFW or similar.
• Experience in commissioning the BOP in this type of plant.
• Leadership, teamwork skills and the ability to solve problems independently.
• Knowledge of logic diagrams; TFAs management skills will be valued.

Location: West Midlands

Contract: Outside IR35

Start: Sept/October 2025

Duration: 12 Months minimum
