Commissioning and Contracts Officer
Waverley Court

Salary: £37,626 - £44,257
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commissioning and Contracts Officer to join the Housing and Homeless commissioning and contracts team.

The successful applicant will procure, and contract manage several suppliers and providers working to deliver the outputs and objectives of key strategic plans such as City of Edinburgh Councils Local Housing Strategy and Rapid Rehousing transition plan. The post holder is crucial to support deliver the key objectives of the service and prevent homelessness in Edinburgh.

You will have the opportunity to work with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams to find the best solution through local and national contracting agreements to deliver for our front-line services. A large part of the successful applicants workplan will be focused on supporting the delivery of a workplan focused on the commissioning of third and private sector contracts which centre around temporary accommodation and support services. The successful candidate may also be expected to support their peers in the delivery of the service workplan in relation to capital works and repairs.

We are looking for candidates who can be innovative in their approach and have a desire to assist and support providers to meet the needs of our council tenants and landlords whilst meeting the statutory requirements of the Council. The successful candidate will have the relevant qualification(s), have knowledge and an understanding of contract management practices.

The successful candidate should also have a good understanding of project management principals and contract administration. You should be confident in working with colleagues from our procurement and finance teams and will have the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and providers to deliver on their agreed KPIs. Committee report writing, strong presentation skills and ability to influence are all key characteristics we are looking for in a successful candidate.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
