Job summary

Eureka 89, the premium dining and events space atop Eureka Tower in Melbourne, is seeking a casual Commis Chef to join a fast-paced kitchen brigade. The role offers hands-on experience across menus, canapés, desserts, and mise en place, supported by experienced chefs and opportunities to take ownership of your section.

Ideal candidates are hungry to learn, with at least 1 year in a similar kitchen, a formal culinary qualification, and a safety‑mocused mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar kitchen role.
• Formal culinary qualification such as Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Safe Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to prepare ingredients and run sections independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook ingredients to a consistently high standard.
• Support premium dining and event menus including canapés, desserts, entrées and mise en place.
• Run sections with minimal supervision and assist with the pass as required.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, labeling, allergen awareness and stock rotation.
