Commis Chef Job

Job Opportunity: Commis Chef at Escapade, Silverstone

Greycoat Lumleys is proud to be working exclusively with Escapade, a 5* hotel located on the Silverstone track. This venue is in its pre-opening phase, offering a unique and exciting environment to work in. We are recruiting passionate and motivated individuals from a 4* or 5* background for the role of Commis Chef in this state-of-the-art kitchen.

Role Details:

• Duration: Six months, starting in May
• Location: Rural area, own transport required
• Salary: £12.10 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week on a rota basis

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in preparing and cooking dishes under senior staff guidance
2. Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation standards
3. Prepare ingredients and organize equipment for service
4. Set up workstations with necessary tools and ingredients
5. Support chefs in food prep and stock management
6. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff for smooth operations
7. Report kitchen maintenance issues to Head Chefs
8. Be flexible during busy periods, assisting as needed
9. Adhere to food safety and health & safety regulations, including COSHH
10. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen

Candidate Requirements:

• Passion for hospitality and high standards
• Experience in 4* or 5* environments
• Highly organized with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Discreet, professional, and eager to learn
