Job summary

Colten Care is seeking an experienced Commis Chef for Linden House in Lymington, Hampshire. You will work under the Head Chef to prepare home-cooked meals using local produce, ensuring nutritionally balanced options for residents while supporting dietary needs and special events.

This role offers a flexible pattern with paid breaks and an annual pay review. City & Guilds/NVQ qualifications are desirable, with an emphasis on teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude in a busy kitchen

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow Head Chef guidance and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef to prepare a variety of home cooked meals, including fresh cakes from local produce.
• Provide nutritionally balanced meals across mealtimes.
• Support catering for dietary needs and special events in collaboration with staff.
• Support the kitchen team and help train/cover Kitchen Assistant when required.
• Ensure a safe, hygienic working environment by following Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
